  • Exam is descriptive type and will be conducted offline (pen & paper mode).
  • Candidates need to write essay / précis / letters / application writing etc.
  • Exam carries 100 marks and exam duration will be 1 hour.
  • Exam will have to be written either in Hindi or in English.

  •  Typing Test: Candidates, who are opting English typing, should have typing speed of 35 words per minute and those candidates who are opting Hindi typing should have typing speed of 30 words per minute. The candidate should be Associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
  4. For AAO (Actuarial – 30 vacancies) – Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidates should have compulsorily passed paper CT1 and CT5 plus 4 or more other papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK. (Total 6 or more papers) as on the date of eligibility i.e. 1st March, 2019. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
  5. For AAO (Rajbhasha – 10 vacancies): Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi translation with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level OR Post Graduate Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s degree level OR Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at Bachelor’s degree level.

Selection Process –

Selection of Assistant Administrative Officers will be done through a three tiered process and subsequent Prerecruitment Medical examination.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination consisting of objective test will be conducted online. The test will have three sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Phase-II : Main Examination: Main examination will consist of objective tests for 300 marks and descriptive test for 25 marks. Both the objective and descriptive tests will be online. The objective test will have separate timing for every section. Candidates will have to answer descriptive test by typing on the computer. Descriptive test will be administered immediately after the completion of the objective test.

Phase-III: Interview Marks obtained in the Main Examination only will be considered for shortlisting for interview and marks obtained in Main Examination + marks obtained in Interview will be considered for final merit listing of candidates.

Salary / Emoluments-

Basic pay of Rs. 32795/- per month in the scale of Rs. 32795- 1610(14) –55335– 1745(4) –62315 and other admissible allowances as per rules. Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale, inclusive of House Rent Allowance & City Compensatory Allowance wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city, will be approximately Rs 56,000/- per month in ‘A’ Class city. Other benefits and allowances and increments will be there as per government norms.

Probation:  A candidate after appointment as Assistant Administrative Officer shall be on probation for a period of one year from the date of joining. This period may be extended upto two years.

Guarantee Bond: Before joining as a Probationer, candidates will be required to give an undertaking to serve LIC for a minimum period of four years from the date of joining (including probationary period) failing which, he/she or his /her heirs, executors, administrators will be liable to pay liquidated damages of Rs.200,000/-only (Rupees Two Lakhs only) or the sum of amount the Executive Director (Personnel) may prescribe from time to time. The candidate will have to submit Deed of Indemnity at his/her cost, duly stamped, the stamp value of which will be as applicable to the State in which the deed is executed by the candidate.

Selection Process –

The selection process includes only single phase computer based test ( CBT ), However RRB reserves the right to conduct additional CBTs if considered necessary for all or for a limited number of candidates as may be deemed fit by RRBs.  CBT will be followed by document verification and medical tests, after phase 1 results and before the final shortlisting of candidates.

Shortlisting of candidates for Document Verification and empanelment will be made strictly on

merit based on the performance of the candidate in the CBT subject to securing minimum qualifying

marks prescribed for their communities. Minimum qualifying mark prescribed for UR/EWS is 40%,

OBC & SC is 30% and ST is 25%. If sufficient candidates for PwBD are not available 2 marks

relaxation in minimum qualifying marks will be given.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE

All candidates need to put their name in the application as in SSC Certificate. Normally in SSC certificate the name is written as follows SURNAME – YOUR NAME – FATHER’S NAME, i.e. if your name is Rahul Prakash Joshi, in the SSC Certificate it must be written as JOSHI RAHUL PRAKASH.  

So please confirm it on your SSC certificate. In case you have changed your name officially, then you can put your changed name, but you should have gazzette certificate for the changed name. Which you have to carry while going for the exam.

And candidates who are eligible for more than one posts depending on the their application and merit of CBT-1, will have to give different CBT-2 for the respective posts on different days.

Qualifying marks: The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This is applicable to all candidates irrespective of community or category i.e. irrespective of SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/Ex SM and no relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible.

(D) Typing Skill Test (TST):-

For the posts Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior  Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper, Typing Skill Test (TST) of qualifying nature (marks obtained in typing skill test shall not be added for making merit) shall be conducted for which the number of candidates equal to eight times the number of vacancies for each of the community shall be called for. The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility.
