LIC Assistant Recruitment Updates

Life Insurance Corporation of India has posted two LIC Assistant Recruitment updates recently on their official website regarding the Official State Language Test & change in the exam date.

Change in Preliminary exam date

The exam which was earlier scheduled on 21st & 22nd October earlier, is now postponed to 30th and 31st October. Though, there is no clarification of why the exam is postponed, but, we believe it is mostly because of Elections scheduled in the states Maharashtra and Haryana, and their voting dates were coinciding with the exam date of LIC on 21st October 2019. So, for all the candidates, better take the advantage of the extra time for the preparation.

Clarification of Official State Language Test

Earlier there was just a mention that the candidates should have the knowledge of official state language of the state in which he is applying for. But, it was not clear how the knowledge will be judged.

Now it is mentioned that, candidate will have to appear for the official state language test of the state in which he is applying for. The test will be of 25 marks, and candidate need to get at least 10 marks in it. The test is qualifying in nature, as the score will not counted in further selection or preparing merit list. But, qualifying in the test will be mandatory.

Note- Candidates, who had official state language as a subject during their 10th or 12th standard exam, can provide the scorecard of that, and they will not be required to appear for the state language test.

LIC Assistant Recruitment Notification 2019

LIC Assistant Recruitment Notification 2019 is declared for approx. 8000 vacancies across India. Online applications are invited from eligible candidates. The recruitment is same in all different zones  all over India, below are the vacancy details for the jurisdiction of the various Divisional Offices under Western Zonal Office, Mumbai.

Post – Assistant

No of Vacancies – approx. 8000 all over India, ( 216 in Mumbai and Suburbs)

Eligibility –

Age Limit – 18 to 30 years

(3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates and 5 years relaxation for SC /ST candidates, Relaxation for PWD and Ex-servicemen as per government norms.)

Educational Qualification-

“Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution”.

Note – Candidate must have knowledge of Official Language of the state in which he is applying for. e.g. candidate must know Marathi, if he is applying for the posts in the state of Maharashtra

Selection Process –

Selection of Assistant Administrative Officers will be done through a two tiered process and subsequent Prerecruitment Medical examination.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination consisting of objective test will be conducted online. The test will have three sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Job Requirement:-

Assistant will need to perform different duties of clerical staff including Cashier, Single window operator, Customer Service Executive, etc.

 

Salary / Emoluments-

On appointment as a Assistant, basic pay of ₹ 14,435/- per month, with all different allowances the gross salary will be approximately ₹30,000/- in ‘A’ Class City. Other benefits include Gratuity, Defined Contributory Pension Scheme, LTC, Medical Benefit, Group Insurance, Group Personal Accident Insurance etc as per rules.
