Selection Procedure-

BE/B.Tech or equivalent qualification in first class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or CGPA 6.84/10. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be short-listed to appear in the Written Test, which is scheduled to be conducted on 12.01.2020 at twelve venues viz., Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. However, ICRB reserves its rights to prescribe a higher cut-off on need basis. ICRB also reserves its rights to cancel any written test centre and re-allot the candidates to any other test centre. The call letters for the written test to the short-listed candidates will be sent only by e-mail during last week of December, 2019. The written test paper consists of 80 objective type questions carrying equal marks. Based on the performance in the Written Test, candidates will be short-listed for interview, the schedule and venue of which will be notified by e-mail. Written test is only a first level screening and written test score will not be considered for final selection process. Final selection will be based on the performance of the candidates in the Interview and those who secure minimum 60% marks in the interview will be eligible for consideration for empanelment, in the order of merit.

Salary/ Emoluments-

Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Level 10 of Pay Matrix and will be paid minimum basic pay of Rs. 56,100/- p.m. In addition, Dearness Allowance [DA], House Rent Allowance [HRA] and Transport Allowance are payable as per extant rules on the subject. The employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme. Further medical facilities for self and dependents, subsidised canteen, limited quarters facility (in lieu of HRA), Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, House Building Advance etc are admissible as per Central Government orders.

LIC Assistant Recruitment Updates

Life Insurance Corporation of India has posted two LIC Assistant Recruitment updates recently on their official website regarding the Official State Language Test & change in the exam date.

Change in Preliminary exam date

The exam which was earlier scheduled on 21st & 22nd October earlier, is now postponed to 30th and 31st October. Though, there is no clarification of why the exam is postponed, but, we believe it is mostly because of Elections scheduled in the states Maharashtra and Haryana, and their voting dates were coinciding with the exam date of LIC on 21st October 2019. So, for all the candidates, better take the advantage of the extra time for the preparation.

Clarification of Official State Language Test

Earlier there was just a mention that the candidates should have the knowledge of official state language of the state in which he is applying for. But, it was not clear how the knowledge will be judged.

Now it is mentioned that, candidate will have to appear for the official state language test of the state in which he is applying for. The test will be of 25 marks, and candidate need to get at least 10 marks in it. The test is qualifying in nature, as the score will not counted in further selection or preparing merit list. But, qualifying in the test will be mandatory.

Note- Candidates, who had official state language as a subject during their 10th or 12th standard exam, can provide the scorecard of that, and they will not be required to appear for the state language test.

Selection Procedure-

The selection Process consist of two phase exams and last round of interview.

Phase I exam is online objective exam of 1 hour and 100 marks. This exam is common for all the posts, and it consists of 3 sections namely, English language , Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning. The Phase I exam is qualifying in nature, and it’s score will not be counted in final selection.

Phase II exam structure is different with different subjects for all the different posts. Please read the official FCI Recruitment Notification 2019 carefully to understand the same.

Interview will be conducted for the candidates shortlisted on the basis of the scores obtained in Phase II. For the final merit list, Phase II is given 90% weightage & 10% weightage is for interview.

Salary/ Emoluments-

For the post of Manager (General/ Depot/ Movement/ Accounts/ Technical/ Civil Engineering/ Electrical Mechanical Engineering), candidates will be selected as Management Trainee and will undergo training for six months. Only consolidated stipend will be paid to them at the rate of Rs. 40000/-(Forty thousand only) per month during the training period.

Management Trainees will be considered for absorption as Managers in the IDA Pay scale of Rs. 40000 –140000 upon successful completion of training period of six months.
