Selection Procedure-

Selection will be through Online Computer Based Test followed by Certificate Verification and Medical Examination ofthe provisionally selected candidates.

Test Pattern:- Test will consist two segments and duration of the test will be 2 hours:-

Segment-I:75 Questions pertaining to General Aptitude (i.e Arithmetic, Reasoning, Data interpretation etc.), General Awareness/ General Knowledge and knowledge of English,

Segment-II:75 Questions pertaining to respective technical subject.

Candidates shortlisted based on performance in Online test will be called for Certificate Verification. Merit list will be prepared separately for each branch and category as per the vacancies in each branch.

TRAINING &STIPEND:-

Candidates selected for the post will be required to undergo training for a period of twenty four (24) months. During training period, candidates with ITI qualification have to undergo one year Skill Development Course with certification from National Skill Development Corporation, which may be extended for cases where progress during training is found not satisfactory.

During Training, candidates will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs.10,700/-(consolidated) during the first year and a monthly stipend of Rs.12,200/-(consolidated) during the remaining period of training.

On satisfactory completion of training, Junior Trainees will be considered for appointment on probation to regular post i.e. Technician, subject to availability of vacancies in any Operation / Maintenance / Service / Mines area and OCM(Trainees) will be considered for appointment on probation to regular post i.e., Operator cum Mechanic, subject to availability of vacancies with a minimum Basic Pay of Rs.16,800 in the pay scale(Pre-revised)of Rs.16,800-3%-24,110/-(S-3 Grade).

Salary/ Emoluments-

CTC shall be Rs.5.10Lakhs per annum (approximately) for S-3 Grade. CTC includes Pay and Industrial Dearness Allowance, Special Allowance @ 6%, Conveyance Allowance, Annual Performance Reward, LTC/LTA, Leave and Encashment of Earned Leave, Contributory Provident Fund, Gratuity etc. It may be noted that the retirement benefits like CPF, Gratuity, Pension etc., are payable only on separation (resignation / termination not included) of the employee from the services of the Company.

In addition to the above, the Company offers free medical treatment for self, family and dependent parents. Candidates would be allotted company’s accommodation subject to its availability and no HRA would be allowed, if they do not occupy the allotted Company’s accommodation. This is, however, subject to revision in the event of non-availability of Company’s accommodation.

Selection Procedure-

Selection of recruits is based on State wise merit of their performance in Computer-based Examination, subject to qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in Medical Examinations.

Computer-based Examination.

(a) The question paper will be computer-based with a total of 50 questions, each carrying 01 mark.

(b) The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type (multiple-choice).

(c) The question paper will comprise of two sections i.e. Science & Mathematics and General Knowledge.

(d) The standard of the question paper will be that of class 10th syllabus & sample papers for the examination are available on this link here

(e) Duration of examination will be 30 minutes.

(f) The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate. The Navy reserves the right to determine the pass marks in each Section and in aggregate.

(g) Penalty for Wrong Answer. Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the question paper. There are four alternatives for the answer to every question. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT).

(a) Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is mandatory for selection.

(b) PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

Training & Advancement

Candidates selected will undergo 14 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch/ Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service.

Education Opportunities

You may undergo various professional courses as per service requirement and certificates of equivalent qualifications from various Universities are being awarded on successful completion of courses. You will get “Graduation Equivalent Certificate” on retirement after completion of 15 years of service.

 

 

Pay & Allowances. During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible. On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 21,700- ₹69,100). In addition, they will be paid MSP @ ₹ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).

Promotion. Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e. Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 47,600- ₹ 1,51,100) plus MSP @ ₹ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).

Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed examinations.

Perquisites- (a) During the entire period of training and thereafter, sailors are given books, reading material, uniforms, food and accommodation as per entitlement. (b) Sailors are entitled to medical treatment, Leave Travel Concessions for self and dependents, Group Housing Benefits and other privileges. Sailors are also entitled to Annual and Casual Leave, Children Education and House Rent Allowances. Post retirement benefits include pension, gratuity and Leave encashment. All perquisites are extended as per service conditions and their eligibility/admissibility is regulated as per Government orders in force and amended from time to time.

Selection Procedure-

Selection for Apprenticeship will be completed in Three Stages,

First Stage i.e. Online Examination (Computer based test): -only Eligible Candidates in Group A, B & C will be called for Online Examination (Computer based examination). The Online Examination will consist 100 Number of Multiple Choice questions based on the below mentioned syllabus of Minimum Qualification of respective Groups (i.e. Class 10th Pass for Group A, ITI Pass for Group B & Class 8th Pass for Group C) and Examination will be of 2 Hours duration. Third Stage will be Trade Allotment; for which selected candidates after Medical Examination & Document Verification would only be called in Order of merit marks obtained in the Online Exam and at the time of allotment will be informed regarding availability / vacancy of their choice as per group & category wise merit order. In case of absenteeism or non-acceptance of available merit seat, candidature will be rejected immediately & next available candidate in the order of merit will be called.
