Applications are invited from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment as Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in clerical cadre in State Bank of India.

Educational Qualification – ( As on 31.08.2019 )

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.

Candidates appearing in the last year can apply provisionally, provided that they should have necessary documents of completion of graduation by 31st August 2019

Selection Procedure-

PHASE I – Preliminary Exam

Each test will have a separate timing as mentioned above. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of mark assigned for question will be deducted for each wrong answer. No minimum qualifying marks for individual subject as well as for aggregate (overall) are prescribed. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies. subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.

Scores obtained in preliminary exam will not be counted further.

 

PHASE II – Mains Examination

Exam will be conducted on 10th August 2019

There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of mark assigned for question will be deducted for each wrong answer.

 

Test of specified opted local language:

Those who qualify for selection and produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be subjected to any Language test. In case of others (qualified for selection), specified opted local language test will be conducted after provisional selection but before joining. Candidates not found to be proficient in specified opted local language would be disqualified.

Provisional Selection (Subject to qualifying specified opted local language). The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for the selection and only the aggregate marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II) will be considered for preparation of the final merit list. Provisional selection will be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the test (main examination).

Salary/Emoluments- 

The starting Basic Pay is Rs. 13075.00. The total starting emoluments of a Clerical Cadre employee payable at Metro like Mumbai will be around Rs.25,000/- per month inclusive of D.A.,other allowances at the current rate and two additional increments for newly recruited graduate junior associate.

Selection Procedure-

PHASE I – Preliminary Exam

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will have of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Preliminary exam is just elimination round to get selected further for mains There are no sectional cut offs & approx. 20000 candidates will be shortlisted further for mains. The list of shortlisted candidate will be available on the website, and only these candidates will get the call letter/admit card for the mains.

Scores obtained in preliminary exam will not be counted further.

PHASE II – Mains Examination

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test

(i) Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.

 (ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

Phase – III: Group Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)

Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Main Examination. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approximately) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise & Interview from the top of the merit list subject to a candidate scoring minimum qualifying score in aggregate

Final Selection:-

Only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GE & Interview (Phase-III) for preparing the final merit list. The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately.

Marks secured by the candidates in the Main Examination (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Main Examination and Group Exercises & Interview out of 100. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

 

Salary/Emoluments-

Presently, the starting basic pay is Rs.27,620/– , The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time.

The total compensation per annum on CTC basis be a minimum of Rs. 8.20 lacs and maximum of Rs.13.08 lacs depending on place of posting and other factors.

Service Bond-

The selected candidates will be exposed to basic banking knowledge, before joining, through an online course and will have to complete this course before joining. The selected candidates, at the time of joining, will have to execute a Bond for a value of Rs. 2.00 lac (Two lac only) to serve the Bank for a minimum period of three years. The Bond will be invoked by the Bank if the candidate resigns from the service of the Bank before expiry of three years from the date of joining.
