Age Limit :-

upto 30 Years ( General Category/ Unreserved )

Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC & 5 years for SC/ST candidates will be there.

10 Years Extension for PWD / Ex-servicemen

Educational Qualification :-

Three year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Eletrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Metallurgical) with 60% of marks from a State Board of Technical Education + Minimum of two years post qualification experience/ training in a Shipyard/ Marine Engineering Training Institute/Heavy Engineering Company.

Selection Procedure-

The method of selection for the posts shall be through an Objective type Online Test which shall be conducted out of 100 marks and marks awarded accordingly.

The Objective type Online test shall be of 90 Minutes duration comprising of 100 Multiple Choice Questions in the following areas. Each question carries one mark and there shall be no negative marks:-

General Knowledge – 10 marks

General English – 10 marks

Reasoning – 10 marks

Quantitative Aptitude – 10 marks

Discipline related – 60 marks Total 100 marks

Discipline wise merit lists shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the online test and the candidates shall be short listed for the certificate verification based on the marks secured in the online test, in the order of merit/reservation of posts.

Note: The written test will be conducted at various centres in Kerala only.

Period of Contract:-

All posts above are temporary in nature and for a maximum period of three years subject to project requirements and performance.

holders in Commercial Practice, for undergoing one year Apprenticeship training under the
Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.

A. Category – I Graduate Apprentices:-

Eligible Disciplines- Degree in Electrical Engg./Mechanical Engg./Electronics Engg./Civil Engg./Computer Science/Computer Application/ Computer Engineering/Information Technology/ Safety Engg./ Marine Engg/ Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding

Stipend – Rs.10000 per month

B. Category – II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:-

Eligible Disciplines- Diploma in Electrical Engg./Mechanical Engg./Electronics Engg./Civil Engg./ Computer Engineering/Instrumentation Engg./ Commercial Apprentice

Stipend – Rs.8500 per month

AGE: Age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Rules.

RESERVATION OF VACANCIES: Government of India Directives on reservation
applicable for Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Other Backward Class
(OBC)/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) will be strictly followed.

DURATION OF TRAINING: The duration of Apprenticeship training will be for a period of
one year as per Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.

PREVIOUS TRAINING: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing
apprenticeship under Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973 in any Government or Public
Sector or Private industrial organisation are not eligible to apply.

SELECTION PROCEDURE: Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the percentage
of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification as applicable to the respective
disciplines.

Upon completion of the Apprenticeship period, CSL shall have no obligation to offer
employment to such apprentices nor can an apprentice claim right for employment on the
grounds of completion of Apprenticeship.
