Bureau of Indian Standards Recruitment 2024 is out..!! Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the statutory body under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs), Govt. of India and responsible for activities in the field of Standardization, Product and System Certification, Hallmarking of Gold/Silver Jewellery, Laboratory Testing, etc. in the country. BIS invites on-line applications from the ELIGIBLE individuals for filling up of vacancies in the following post by Direct Recruitment at BIS Headquarters, New Delhi and BIS Offices located in the country, as per the details given below.

Post :-  Personal Assistant, Assistant Section Officer, Stenographer, Senior Secretariat Assistant, Junior Secretariat assistant, Technical Assistant ( Laboratory) & Senior Technician

Total No of Vacancies :-  362

Eligibility Bureau of Indian Standards Recruitment 2024 :-

Age Limit :-

18 to 30 years

Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC, and of 5 years for SC/ST candidates

Age relaxation for PWD candidates & Ex-servicemen as per government norms.

Educational Qualification :-

  • Personal Assistant- (a) Degree from a recognized University;
    (b) Computer Proficiency Test: The candidate should be proficient at least upto Level-6 of National Skill Qualification Framework. The test shall be qualifying in nature; and
    (c) Shorthand test in English or Hindi comprising dictation test at hundred words per minute for seven minutes which the candidates shall be required to transcribe in forty five minutes (English dictation) and in sixty minutes (Hindi dictation) and knowledge of computer.
  • Assistant Section Officer- (i) Bachelor‘s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent; and (ii) Computer Proficiency Test: The candidate should be proficient at least upto Level-6 of National Skill Qualification Framework. The test shall be qualifying in nature; and (iii) Qualifying Skill Test in Computer Proficiency
  • Assistant (Computer Aided Design) – working knowledge of typography;  or
    Bachelor‘s Degree in Science with five years‘ experience in Auto CAD and draftsmanship in the relevant discipline; or
    Diploma in Engineering in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical with five years‘ experience in Auto CAD and draftsmanship in the relevant discipline.
  • Stenographer- (i) Bachelor‘s Degree from a recognized University; (ii) Computer Proficiency Test: The candidate should be proficient at least uptoLevel-5 of National Skill Qualification Framework. The test shall be
    qualifying in nature; and
    (iii) Shorthand Test: English/Hindi Shorthand test at the speed of eighty words per minute which the candidates shall have to transcribe on Computer in fifty or sixty five minutes, respectively.
  • Senior Secretariat Assistant- (i) Bachelor‘s Degree from a recognized University; and
    (ii) Qualifying Skill Test in Computer Proficiency consisting of:
    (a) Word Processing Test – 2000 Key Depressions in fifteen minutes;
    (b) Test in Spread Sheets on Microsoft Excel – fifteen minutes; and
    (c) Test in Power Point (Microsoft PowerPoint) – fifteen Minutes
  • Technical Assistant ( Laboratory) – (i) Bachelor’s Degree in Science (with Chemistry or Microbiology or Physics or Bio-Technology or Food Technology or Bio-Chemistry or Electronics as one of the main subject) with minimum sixty percent marks (fifty percent for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes);  Or (ii) three years diploma in Mechanical or Electrical or Civil or Chemical or Electronics or Food Technology or Metallurgy with minimum sixty percent marks (fifty percent marks for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes)
  • Senior Technician- 10th Pass/SSC + ITI Certificate in (a) Electrician; (b) Air-Conditioning; (c) Refrigeration; (d) Mechanic (Diesel– Engine); (e) Fitter; (f) Carpenter; (g) Welder & two years experience in respective trade.

Selection Procedure for Bureau of Indian Standards Recruitment 2024-

The candidates shall be required to appear for online examination to be conducted through IBPS. The successful candidates shall be called for interview in the proportion of 1:4 based on their ranking.

PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS: There will be deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

The candidates will be required to secure at least 50% marks in each test and also at least 50 % marks in aggregate out of total maximum marks in the on-line examination, to be considered for skill test/practical test/trade test, which shall be qualifying in nature.

 

Probation Period-

The selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two year from the date of joining.

Salary/ Emoluments for Bureau of Indian Standards Recruitment 2024 –

Monthly salary will be in the range Level 6 / Level 4 as per 7th Pay Commission  along with all different government allowances as per norms.

Selection Procedure for BIS Recruitment 2020-

The selection methodology will comprise of following stages:–

a) Short-listing based on GATE 2018, GATE 2019, GATE 2020 Score: The shortlisting of candidates for Personal Interview will be based on the valid score of GATE 2018, GATE 2019 or GATE 2020, as may be applicable. Short-listing of candidates for Personal Interview will be done in order of merit of valid GATE Scores

b) Personal Interview: Only the shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview at New Delhi. Number of candidates to be called for interview will not be higher than 4 times the number of vacancies in the concerned discipline & category. The candidates will be allowed to take part in the Personal Interview process only after successful completion of the Document Verification process. The date, time and venue of interview will be intimated by e-mail. The same will also be hosted on our website: www.bis.gov.in.

c) Final merit list: Candidates shall be selected discipline wise on the basis of merit as determined by the aggregate marks obtained by giving eighty-five percent (85%) weightage to GATE Score and fifteen percent (15%) weightage to the marks obtained in interview.

SURETY BOND: A candidate, on appointment to the post of Scientist- B, shall furnish a surety bond in the form specified by the Bureau, for serving the Bureau for a minimum period of three years. If he/she decides to leave the service either by resignation or absence from service without permission earlier than three years from the date of employment, he/she shall be required to reimburse the Bureau six months’ emoluments at the rate last drawn by him unless he/she has worked for a shorter period in which case he/she shall be required to reimburse the full amount drawn by him/her.

PROBATION: 2 Years

 

Salary/ Emoluments for BIS Recruitment 2020-

These posts are in the Pay Level 10 as per the Seventh Central Pay Commission plus allowances as applicable. The gross emoluments at the time of joining will be approximately Rs. 87,000/- at Delhi at present.
