Indian Railways ALP Recruitment 2024 is out ..!! Indian Railways has declared notification for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot across India.
Vacancy and eligibility details are as follows
Post – Assistant loco pilot
vacancies– 5696
Eligibility for Indian Railways ALP Recruitment 2024 –
Age limit –
18 to 33 years
3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates and 5 years relaxation for SC /ST candidates.
There will be age relaxation for PWD candidates and Ex- Servicemen also.
Educational Qualification –
SSC + ITI from recognised insitute in the trades of Fitter / Electrician/Instrument Mechanic/Mechanic(diesel/motor vehicle/tractor)/Heat engine/Wireman/Machinist/AC and refridgeration
or
Diploma in Engineering(electrical/mechanical/electronics/automobile)

Mode of Application – Online
Application Fees – Rs. 500 ( Rs. 400 will be refunded from this after the candidate appears for Phase 1.Application fees for SC / ST / PWD is Rs.250 , and entire amount refundable after appearing for Phase 1.

Please keep the following things ready before starting application. Scanned Documents in JPEG Format to be kept ready before filling the application In order to ensure speedy filling up of application by the candidates, they should keep the following documents in digital form before logging into the application page.
- Candidate Photograph in Color: JPEG image of size 20KB to 50KB
- Candidate Signature: JPEG image of size 10KB to 40KB
iii. SC/ST Certificate (Only for candidates seeking Free Travel Pass): JPEG image of size 50 to 100KB ( Please note, only SC / ST candidates need to upload caste certificate , while applying. )
Selection Process for Indian Railways ALP recruitment 2024–
The selection process includes, computer based tests at Phase -1 and Phase – 2 followed phase 3 and by document verification and medical tests, wherever applicable.
Phase – 1, CBT
the exam is common for all the posts.

There is 1/3rd negative marking for every wrong answer. And the paper will not be section wise, it will mixture of all above subjects. Actual question distribution may vary.
Syllabus ( Phase – 1) –
1. Mathematics :
Number systems, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM and HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern.
2.General Intelligence and Reasoning :
Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
3.General Awareness :
Knowledge of Current affairs, Indian geography, culture and history of India including freedom struggle, Indian Polity and constitution, Indian Economy, Environmental issues concerning India and the World, Sports, General scientific and technological developments etc.
4.General Science :
Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences (up to 10th Standard CBSE syllabus)
Phase – 2 – CBT
CBT will be in two parts , A and B.
part A will be aptitude test of mathematics, english, reasoning and general awareness like CBT 1, part B will the test based on the selected trade.
Part A will be of 90 minutes with 100 questions with 100 marks
Part B will be 60 minutes with 75 questions and 75 marks
there will be 1/3rd negative marking for each wrong answer.
The section wise distribution given in the above table is only indicative and there may be some variations in the actual question papers.
Phase 3
CBAT – Computer Based Aptitude test will be conducted for the candidates shortlisted on the basis of trheir performance in Phase2.
Phase 4
Phase 4 will be of document verification for the selected candidates. Candidates are selected for phase 4 on the basis of their score in Phase 2 ( part A) (70% weightage) and phase 3 (30% weightage).
Salary for Assistant Loco Pilot –
Basic salary is Rs.19900, The gross remuneration will be approx. Rs.35400 per month
