Salary /SCALE OF PAY

Steno & UDC Revised pay as per 7th Central Pay Commission for the post is Level- 4 of Pay Matrix (Civilian employees) with Entry Pay Rs. 25500/-, replaced against Pay Band Rs. 5200- 20200/- with Grade Pay Rs. 2400/- of 6th Central Pay Commission. In addition to Pay they will also be eligible for DA, HRA and Transport Allowance and other allowances as per rules in force from time to time.

Indian Railways has released it’s centralised employment notice ( RRC- 01/2019 ) for the recruitment of 103769  vacancies (9345 in Mumbai) of  various level – 1 ( technical ) posts all over India.

PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TESTS (PET)

Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates shall be called for PET Three times the community wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs/RRCs. However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease this ratio as required to ensure availability of adequate/reasonable number of candidates for all the notified posts. Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature. The criterion for PET is as under:

Male candidates- Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down ; and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.

Female candidates – Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.

RRB Recruitment of Ministerial and Isolated Categories

Indian Railways has released it’s notification CEN 03/2019 for the recruitment of various ministerial and isolated categories across different RRBs all over India. There are total 1665 vacant posts all over India, while in RRB Mumbai, there are total 267 vacancies. Please note that all the different posts are not available in all RRB , e.g. posts of Trained teacher, post graduate teachers are not available in many RRBs including Mumbai. The selection process includes only single phase computer based test ( CBT ), However RRB reserves the right to conduct additional CBTs if considered necessary for all or for a limited number of candidates as may be deemed fit by RRBs.  CBT will be followed by document verification and medical tests, after phase 1 results and before the final shortlisting of candidates.

Minimum qualifying mark prescribed for UR/EWS is 40%, OBC & SC is 30% and ST is 25%. If sufficient candidates for PwBD are not available 2 marks relaxation in minimum qualifying marks will be given.
