Vacancy and eligibility details are as follows

Post – Technician Grade I – signal, Technician Grade III

Eligibility for Indian Railways Technician Recruitment 2024 –

Age limit –

Technician Grade I – signal- 18 to 36 years

Technician Grade III-18 to 33 years

3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates and 5 years relaxation for SC /ST candidates.

There will be age relaxation for PWD candidates and Ex- Servicemen also.

Educational Qualification –

Technician Grade I – BSc or Diploma in Engineering with Physics/electronics/computer science/IT/instrumentation etc

Techncian Grade III – SSC + ITI from recognised insitute in the trades of Fitter / Electrician/Instrument Mechanic/Mechanic(diesel/motor vehicle/tractor)/Heat engine/Wireman/Machinist/AC and refridgeration etc

Please keep the following things ready before starting application. Scanned Documents in JPEG Format to be kept ready before filling the application In order to ensure speedy filling up of application by the candidates, they should keep the following documents in digital form before logging into the application page.

1. Candidate Photograph in Color: JPEG image of size 20KB to 50KB
2. Candidate Signature: JPEG image of size 10KB to 40KB

Selection Process  for Indian Railways Technician recruitment 2024–

The selection process includes, computer based tests at Phase -1 and Phase – 2 followed phase 3 and by document verification and medical tests, wherever applicable.

Phase – 1, CBT

CBT for the post of Technician Grade I

There is 1/3rd  negative marking for every wrong answer.  And the paper will not be section wise, it will mixture of all above subjects. Actual question distribution may vary.

Syllabus ( Phase – 1) –

1. Mathematics :

Number systems, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM and HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern.

2.General Intelligence and Reasoning :

Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

3.General Awareness :

Knowledge of Current affairs, Indian geography, culture and history of India including freedom struggle, Indian Polity and constitution, Indian Economy, Environmental issues concerning India and the World, Sports, General scientific and technological developments etc.

4.General Science :

Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences (up to 10^th Standard CBSE syllabus)

Phase – 2 –

Phase 2 will be of document verification and Medical examination for the selected candidates.

Salary for Techincians  –

Technician Grade I – signal- Rs.29200, the gross

Technician Grade III-Rs.19900, The gross remuneration will be approx. Rs.35400 per month
